Newsletter launch by Ms. Prema, the Journalist. Followed by an interactive session on “Handling pressure”. II BBA and III BBA students have attended the session. 12-1 We are delighted to inform you that on November 7, 2022, the KLH-GBS CHRONICLES, our first newsletter was launched. The event was successful with graceful presence of our Chief guest Ms. Prema Malini Vanam Garu, Dr. A. Ramakrishna Garu (Director of KLH-GBS), and Dr. Bala Nagalakshmi Garu (HOD).

The chief guest of the event Ms. Prema Malini Vanam Garu, popularly known as Prema, the Journalist is an independent journalist, short film and documentary film maker. She is a two time the erstwhile Andhra Pradesh State Government Nandi award, and onetime National award-winning TV Journalist. She has over 20 years of experience spanning Advertising agencies/ PR firms, TV & Digital media Journalism. She is an accomplished communications and public relations professional with key and enduring relationships across the Film, political, media and government establishments. She has worked in Top TV News channels like TV9, TV5 and Digital media company called “IDream”. She took interviews of more than 1000 renowned people from varied fields such as film industry and politics through programmes titled “Life is beautiful” in TV5 & “Dialogue with Prema” in iDream digital media and in her own YouTube channel “Prema, the Journalist “. Prema Malini Garu has also initiated a Production house called “mihira KRIYAtives”, an organisation that caters to Creative Video Content. She has made People oriented Documentaries titled PRAJAPAKSHAM of about 250 episodes on issues like Education, Empowerment, Environment, Livelihoods, Women and Child issues etc in TV9. Apart from this, she has also worked as guest faculty in News Presentation and Media Studies for the students of Annapurna Film and Media Studies, Hyderabad.

She is also the Creative Director and member in the Advisory board of a social Enterprise, called “Million Mom’s”. She is also an accomplished Trainer on Media and Journalism. During the Covid Pandemic at least 400 Telugu speaking NRIs from across the globe have enrolled and received training on Communication skills & Public speaking from her.

The launch was followed by an interactive session by the Chief Guest Ms. Prema, the Journalist on “Handling pressure”. With anecdotes from her personal and professional life, she taught the staff and the students how to handle pressure . The audience thoroughly enjoyed the interaction by posing many interesting questions. It was also suggested that she schedule a lesson on “Public speaking skills” soon.

In addition, we also want to let you know that the first edition of KLH-GBS CHRONICLES (Aug-Sep Issue, 2022) is a collaborative effort of student members. A student committee has been formed to collect the relevant write-ups and student contributions. Students from the student committee are: Harshita Verma (I MBA), Sree Lashya. V (I MBA), B. Kalpana (II BBA), Rana Reddy (II BBA), N. Aravind (II BBA) Bhanu Teja (II BBA) ,M. Rashmitha (I BBA ), B.Meghana (I BBA), D. Jahnavi (I BBA), N. Sri Ramani, (I BBA).

Our newsletter consists of Editorial, Words of Wisdom, Life at GBS, Hobby corner, Jokes & Quiz, Creative minds. We are looking forward to add more components such as Students’ achievements and Faculty achievements, messages etc. from the next issue. The newsletter will be released in the second week of every month.

KL Global Business School Hyderabad Organises ‘Coffee with HR’ to explore dynamics of the Corporate World

November 2022: To develop the right ‘corporate mindset’ and inculcate work-culture and professional values, KLH Global Business School organized ‘Coffee with HR’ at its campus in Hyderabad recently. The first-of-its-kind conversation at KLH GBS was led by HR expert Ms. Sujitha Ravoori, Head of Business Partnering & Talent Management, Arecesium, Hyderabad. A series of interactive sessions are scheduled to be organized for students to provide opportunities to interact with various dynamic leaders and business professionals and understand the current practices and challenges prevalent in the job market and the corporate world.

The coffee with HR initiative was received on a positive note by the students of the management stream. The students actively participated in the exchange of ideas and thoughts and were excited listening to the accomplishments, real-life anecdotes, and success stories. Dr. G. P. Saradhi Varma, Vice Chancellor, KL Deemed to be University said that such sessions help students achieve a deeper understanding of the best practices of the corporate world and learn to adapt themselves to the changing corporate needs. This is another achievement added to the kitty and the university plans to host a series of such enriching sessions with renowned HR professionals in the future.

The initiative intends to create connections and great engagement with the industry experts and also to provide awareness about leadership engagement, employee engagement initiatives, HR policies, identification of one’s personality, and finding the correct job fit accordingly. The need for excellence was largely stressed on this occasion as it was regarded as the foundation to create wonders in many fields, informed Dr. A. Ramakrishna, Director, KLH GBS.

Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Sujitha Ravoori said, “It is a remarkable endeavor by the management and mentors at the business school to provide their students with the best and the most candid industry exposure. The interactions of the event would open new doors of possibilities for the students. The whole idea is to ignite new ideas among the students.” Ms. Ravoori is an experienced professional with around two decades of experience in managing and leveraging human capital to create high-performance work cultures and build people-centric organizations.

The experts at the session spoke extensively about how employee well-being was the primary focus of the companies and how human resources aimed towards connecting the right people with the right job role. Talk on the latest trends in HR, interactive sessions on invigorating topics like how the happiness of employees is considered one of the most important aspects in today’s job world, how companies are mapping their happiness index, and how companies have started to think out of the box and how innovation culture is now a primary focus in large corporations, were also held. Convener Dr. Swarupa along with other faculty members, university officials and students contributed to make the event a success.

Business Analytics Laboratory Inauguration

The Business Analytics Lab inaugurated on 8 November 2022 at KLH-GBS.
Features/Highlights of the Lab: The Business Analytics Laboratory in KLH Global Business School is equipped with High-end configuration systems and essential software installed which includes SPSS, Power-BI, and R-Programming.

SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences)

Data analysis for descriptive and bivariate statistics, numerical result forecasts, and predictions for group identification are all provided by SPSS. Additionally, the program offers graphing, direct marketing, and data processing functions. In its main view, the software interface shows open data in a manner akin to a spreadsheet.

Uniqueness of the lab:

The uniqueness of this laboratory is to provide appropriate hands-on experience on the software and hone the skills of students based on the current market requirements.

Dr. Nagendra V Chowdary Garu has 29 Years of Teaching, Research, Consulting, and Institutional Building Experience. Dr. Nagendra garu is presently working as the HEAD – of ACADEMIC CONTENT TIMESPRO, a division of Bennett, Coleman & Co. Ltd. Dr. Nagendra Garu has completed his post-graduation and doctorate from Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning and Osmania University. Dr. Nagendra Garu has Specializations in areas of Teaching, Course Designing, Case Writing, Case Teaching, Institutional (Educational) Building, Designing Innovative Pedagogical Tools, Conducting Interviews, and Authoring Books and Articles.

Mr. Kiran Kuchimanchi, president of Digital Engineering Services Cigniti Technologies, Mr. Kiran has 20+ years of experience across various segments. He has completed his schooling at Jawahar Vidyalaya, Chennai, and a post-graduation in Computer Engineering from Osmania University. He worked for Value Labs as a technical architect, global delivery leader, and as country head. Mr. Kiran is also the CEO of RoundSqr which is an integral part of Cigniti and involves defining business problems with the help of existing and emerging technologies which includes providing solutions using Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Computer Vision.

Sai Ram Vedam Garu is at present working as CMO for Cigniit technologies. Sairam Vedam Garu has completed his e-PGCPM (Executive Post graduate certificate program in management) from IIM Kozhikode and his master's in computer technology from CIT, Coimbatore. Sai Ram Vedam Garu has 22+ years of experience in the fields of product management, branding and communications, Agile project management, and strategic planning. He also played a major role as Quality Analyst, in health care’s IT and its solutions. He has also worked as a Chief Marketing officer.

We are extremely delighted to inform you that we have successfully conducted workshop cum demonstration on virtual production with EPIC (unreal engine) for BSc. Animation and Gaming students by Mr.Saradhi Krishna, Head of Productions, Virtualone Studios, Hyderabad. Mr.Saradhi has diversified experience in delivering content and intellectual property to Walt Disney, Mike Young Productions, studios, Sony Entertainment, Sun Games and Kahani World.

Key points:

Mr. Saradhi Krishna garu shared detailed information about the process of movie making, stages of production process and the different job roles that an animator or visual effects artist would be required to accomplish in the post production process.

Saradhi garu introduced the students to the Unreal engine software and its features in comparison to Maya software.

He gave the students a walkthrough on the new age technology of virtual production by illustrating it through breakdown videos of the making of feature films from Hollywood to Tollywood movies, in the production of news channels, and advertisement media.

Global recognition for Global Business School students. It is indeed a proud moment for KLH-GBS. Our students Pranav of I BBA and Sai Karthik of I MBA received the best presentation award in group from 3 Universities during Education Innovation Camp, AIT, Thailand.

Programme

Asian Institute of Technology has conducted the Education Innovation Camp and Study Tour for 14 Days (16 – 29 December 2022). They have invited forty-three students and four faculty from Koneru Lakshmaiah Education Foundation (Deemed to University) India. So all students are from B.Tech , MBA and BBA backgrounds. Total eight students have participated from KLH, Hyderabad campus.

About AIT

The Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), founded in 1959, is an international organization for higher education situated 40 km north of Bangkok, Thailand. It specializes in engineering, advanced technologies, sustainable development, and management and planning. Its aim is to "promote technological change and sustainable development" in the Asia-Pacific region, through higher education, research, and outreach. As per QS Global Ranking 2023, AIT has secured 1st place in Thailand and 21st in Asia.

About Education and Innovation Camp

Basically, Education Innovation Camp is a part of AIT event calendar for nurturing young talents for getting innovative ideas and disruptive technology. There are students from three different institutions such as KL University, GIS university and NDIM. In this programme they have included emerging topics like Fintech, AI /IOT, Design Thinking, GIS remote sensing, R programming, crowdsourcing, Entrepreneurship. Many of the top corporate executives from Thailand have conducted sessions on the above-mentioned topics. Apart from the classroom, teaching has taken us to many other institutions like KMITL University, Panyapiwat Institute of Management, National Science and Technology Development Agency, National Science Museum, Safari World. As a part of the camp, they have divided all the students in a mix group and have assigned a project of Innovative Idea Pitching to establish a startup. In a part of Group activity Pranav Sathvik Kurla (BBA) from GBS campus presented the idea along with other groupmates and won the best Idea pitching group in Innovation competition which is evaluated by Prof Nitin Tripathi, Director , Special Degree Programme , AIT.
